The Newsroom

Just a quick daily update before I jump in the shower. Autumn and Alexis have a make up soccer game today so we are off to practice at 5:30, game at 6pm, and it should be done around 7pm. I guess dinner will be leftovers tonight. LOL

Today I looked for new ideas for stuff to add to the site. I thought that maybe I should add something for men to the site. My first thought was to add a sports section to the magazine. Then as I looked for some stuff to add I found other stuff. Long store short I added a 15 section newspaper to the site now. LOL

Once I get going I can not stop myself. I race and race to get it all done before the girls get home so I can relax. I can not ever relax when there is something not finished.

If anyone has any interest at all here is my newspaper. I could have added full articles but I do know know if I want to get that involved just yet. So for right now it is just video articles and slideshows. The best part is that the viewers pick up the lastest news in any subject I specify so I never have to do anything to them again.

Okay I really do need to hurry up and shower now.

New Computer section in the magazine

Well this day sure is going by fast. This morning we had to rush more than usual to get ready.

Noelle had to spend the day at the middle/high school today. They have 7th - 12th grade there so she will be going next year. Today her class went to "experience" a day there. So I had to drop the younger two off early and then drop her off. She was excited about the lunch there. She misses being able to choose pizza everyday. Picking her up might be interesting. They never told us where parent pick up is and it is surrounded by three roads and the parking lot looks like only buses can go into it for pick up. When I dropped her off I just quick left her at a stop sign. LOL

I have been so busy with the garage sale that I did not add anything to my site or my community last week. So this morning I quick added a computer and internet section to the magazine and a blog about it on the community.

James has been calling me all day. I think he is bored. He keeps asking me stupid things like have I opened the windows to get fresh air and if I have measured Noelle's window to see if one of the other screens in the house will fit so we can open her window. Apparently he thinks I will actually get something done around the house today. LOL

I suppose it is after 1pm now so I should do something other than sit on the computer. LOL

Sunday Afternoon

Yesterday ended up being a really nice day. James was gone longer than we had thought. He brought Josh with him because Josh has not seen much of Wisconsin yet and he loves to golf.

Three men that talk too much means a very long day of golf. Then they stopped for pizza so James could have Josh try "real pizza". This is something people in Racine always do to people that are not from there. Everyone HAS to try pizza at Infusino's. LOL He brought some home with him too.

When he got home it was around 3pm and he wanted to pack up all the garage sale stuff but we got side tracked. We have been piling up sticks in the fire pit but it has been raining everyday. So he wanted to burn them up since it was nice out. As we started to go through the yard deciding on where we wanted to plant things we picked more sticks. Then we ended up just sitting around the fire and roasting marshmallows. I asked if I should start dinner and they decided to just roast hot dogs instead.

As it got later we all went in for showers and then watched a movie. James just bought Golden Compass. It seemed like a good movie but I think I only caught a tiny bit of it because the kids could not sit still and stop talking. LOL

They are all excited about it getting warmer outside and want to plan out all the things that they could do. James wants to set up the tent next Saturday and camp in the back yard. I have tried to convince them to wait a week. James has to do all the tilling on Sunday and he might be very sore after sleeping in a tent all night. I also thing they should wait until we have a fence up or they may end up with the stray cats bothering them all night.

I think we decided on putting the garden about 4 feet past the patio. It will be still mostly to the side of the yard and we need to be able to get between the patio and garden with a lawn mower. From what James was showing me he wanted it will end up bigger than I had thought. I am excited and worried. We have some boards that we had planned on putting around it but they might not be enough now that I see how big it will be. We do have chicken wire in the basement and we have two rows of falling down chicken wire at the field so we might just rip out some of those poles and use them to hold up chicken wire around the garden.

The tomato and broccoli seeds we planted ahead of time do not look the greatest so I do not know what will live. My cat seems to really like eating broccoli. LOL

James has already bought some seeds so we already have....sunflowers, wildflower mix, peas, watermelon, acorn squash, corn, and cucumber. I am going to start a list of what else he has to get. He will definitely have to get some hot peppers for me. LOL

I am also thinking of making or buying planter boxes for under the windows of the kids playhouse. I think we will put most of the flowers by the playhouse. Autumn loves flowers. James buys her flowers more than he does for me. LOL

Picking a location for the garden

Today feels weird. It feels like it is Monday and I should have the kids in school. Friday James took off for the garage sale so it feels like the weekend should be over now. James went to Racine this morning to go golfing with his friend Jeremy. Him being gone makes it feel even more like a Monday. He should be back early this afternoon though.

When he gets home I want to get out into the yard and make some decisions on where we want to plant things. We are still unsure on where we want to plant the garden or where we want to put in some areas with flowers. There are only a few flat areas in the yard that are not shaded by trees. One area is to the side of the kids playhouse but it may still get too much shade once the trees fill all the way in. Another area of the yard we are considering is on the other side of the yard and halfway back but it would have to be in front of an existing planting area that has boulders and bushes. A garden would block that from being seen. Our other thought was right up against the patio. I had been planning on putting flowers there but we do not have too many options for where to put the vegetable garden.

I really do not like the idea of having it there but it looks like the best location for dirt and sun and it would keep most wild animals away since it is so close to the house. I would like to make those decisions today when James gets home and cut in some borders to mark off where we will be planting. There is plenty of room at the bottom of the slope and the ground is always wet there but I think it will be too shaded down there once the trees fill in. I was thinking we could maybe plant watermelon and pumpkins down there. I love the fact that the whole yard is surrounded by trees so it is very private but it makes it a challenge when we actually need sun for a garden.

James checked out the little hardware store here in town on Friday. He found that they rent tillers for $21 an hour, so we will be doing that. He was thinking of creating raised beds but then he would have to buy all the dirt and drive back and forth to Madison. As of right now our plan is to till up the planting areas next Sunday. I really want to get started on something right now.

Garage Sale Day 2

I give up, I have had enough of this garage sale. I think I would rather just donate all the stuff. It sprinkled a bit early this morning but they still had the soccer games. So they rode their bikes there while I did the garage sale.

This morning was a lot colder than yesterday and no one was coming. Yesterday we had the big dog igloo, Little Tikes playground, and basketball hoop out front so more people came. All of those got picked up last night and our garage does not face the street so we only had 5 people come.

James took the laptop to work so I was cold and bored. I can not tell if people in this town are cheap or broke. No one wanted to spend more than 25 cents on anything. I had one of those big adjustable plastic basketball hoops for kids for sale for only $3 and still some guy did not want it because it did not come with a basketball. Are you kidding me? I almost told him to get out of my yard. LOL

Some crabby old man came and kept talking crap about how I did not have anything from WWII or any guns. As he walked around he said, "I bet you wish you had stuff from WWII so I would buy something from you". The he said," you are obviously not hunters because you do not have any guns". He also made me want to tell him to get out of my yard. Instead I asked him why a hunter would be selling their guns.

At 10am I was cold and sick of dealing with people so I said forget it and closed up. All I sold was a video game for $5 and a pair of shorts for 25 cents. I was hoping it would start raining so I would not feel guilty for stopping. As soon as the sky got darker and the drops started to fall I closed up.

The kids are super excited now though. James decided that when the garage emptied out we could set up the pool table in the garage while it is warm out and just add some extra bolts and whatever else it would take to make it not be wobbly.

As I closed up the garage I was telling the girls that we could keep everything how it is in the garage and just have another sale when we get the new yard stuff and sell the old stuff. The girls quickly informed me that we need to get rid of the stuff because they want to set up the pool table. LOL

Okay now I am going to find something fun to do since I wasted all week getting ready for a garage sale for nothing. Well we did make a total of $87 and my house is less cluttered. If we did not have the big stuff to sell we would not have made anything. Now I just have to get all that stuff out of the garage.

Garage Sale Day 1

So here I am sitting in the garage and it is raining outside!

We have not had that many people come since it is Friday and it is raining. The good news is that I just found out that my wireless signal makes it to the garage! So I can sit out here and not be fully bored. So far we have sold the Little Tikes two slide and tube thing for $50 and the dog igloo for $15. Everything else has just been our 25 cent books and toys.

The slide playground thing sold to our neighbor's friend. The neighbor stopped over and called her friend to come look at it. Tomorrow will be more busy I am sure.

A few quickies

Okay just a few quickies that I found on the newspaper blogs again.

Who we find attractive...

A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry has revealed that the kind of face and physique a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle. For instance, if she is ovulating she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine features. However, if she is PMSing , or menopausal, she is more prone to be attracted to a man with scissors lodged in his temple and a bat jammed up his ass while he is on fire.

A little girl asked her mother, 'How did the human race appear?'
The mother answered, 'God made Adam and Eve and theyhad children and so all mankind was made.'
Two days later the girl asked her father the same question. The father answered, 'Many years ago there were monkeysfrom which the human race evolved.'
The confused girl returned to her mother and said,'Mom how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad said they developed from monkeys?'
The mother answered, 'Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your father told you about his.'

Old Man Syndrome
Two medical students were walking along the streetwhen they saw an old man walking with his legs spread apart.
One of the students said to his friend: "I'm sure he has Petry Syndrome. Those people walk just like that."
The other student says: "No, I don't think so. The old man surely hasZovitzki Syndrome. He walks just as we learned in class."
Since they couldn't agree they decided to ask the old man.
They approached the old man and one of the students said to him:"We're medical students and couldn't help but notice the wayyou walk, but we couldn't agree on the syndrome you might have.Could you tell us what it is?”
The old man said: "I'll tell you, but first you'll tell me what you think."One of the students said: "I think it's Petry Syndrome."
The old man said: "You thought.......... but you're wrong."
Then the other student said: "I think you have Zovitzki Syndrome."
The old man said: "You thought.......... but you're wrong."
So they asked him: "Well, what do you have?"
And the old man said: "I thought it was a fart........... but I was wrong."
