We got a free Rainbow Brite doll for doing this giveaway. As soon as we got the doll my girls pulled the boots out of the package. They wanted to check out the boots right away. I guess I passed on my love for funky shoes!

We almost have the living room all ready. The second color should get painted in the next couple days and then hopefully the furniture will be ready to get delivered. We are almost to the fun stuff!

I can not wait until all of the hard stuff is over. Then I will be able to concentrate more on decorating. The whole color scheme has changed so I will need to go shopping for more things right? I want more things for the ledge and more things for the walls.

James and I have also discussed ideas for Window Coverings. Right now we have plastic Window Blinds. James hates blinds so he wants to either add drapes over them or change to something else. I actually like the functionality of window blinds but I do not like the look of plastic blinds in the living room.

James wants drapes but I do not think full drapes would look good in our living room. The hard thing with our living room is that two of the windows have the bottom of the window on a ledge and one does not. It would look wierd to have drapes that are two different lengths. It would look even stranger if they were the same length because then one windows drapes would stop very high off the ground in order to match the windows on the ledge.

I think a good option would be to get Window Shades. Tear Drop Roman Shades have a nice warm fabric feel but are still very functional like blinds. They are also just the size of the window so it would eliminate the problems we would have with drapes.

I am starting to get excited about getting the living room finished! Maybe if I keep thinking about all of the shopping I can do later I will get the painting done faster! I just need to get past the stuff that I hate.

This is week two of my work as a The View brand ambassador. Have you watched the show lately? They have some great guests and topics. Today they will be talking live with the controversial cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore. I can not wait! That should end up becoming one of the shows that will be talked about for a long time. I think the women will eat them alive!

This weeks schedule...

• Monday, Feb 22: Senator Evan Bayth of Indiana will be making his first and only television appearance since announcing that he is not running for re-election in 2010.
  
• Tuesday, Feb 23: The controversial cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore will be joining the Women live on Tuesday. This will be an interesting show to see how the cast and the women interact!
  
• Wednesday, Feb 24: Nadya Suleman who famously gave birth to octuplets last year will be making her first trip to NYC to chat live with the Women of the View. Author Danielle Steel will also be a guest
  
• Thursday, Feb 25: A one hour show Themed “trying to have a baby?”Guests include Giuliana And Bill Rancic
  
• Friday, Feb 26: Regis and Joy Philbin will perform a song from their new CD: Regis & Joy: Just you. Just me.

I have been chosen to be a The View brand ambassador. So what does this mean? I will be talking to you about the show in the next 4 weeks. I get some free The View merchandise and I get a sidebar button to show that I am one of the cool kids that got chosen!

I have watched The View for years. I started watching when the girls were just babies and I was stuck at home all day with no adults to talk to. As many moms know this is a very boring and lonely time in our lives. Babies are wonderful but when they are the only ones you talk to all day you crave adult conversations.

There are many morning shows but none of them give you the same feeling that you can relate. The average mom can not relate to people like Kathy Lee and quite frankly her nasty attitude really puts me off.

I love that The View has women that are very different from each other and they have real conversations. I want more from a morning show than just what shoes people are wearing this season. I want more than just having the news read to me. The View gives me real topics discussed by real women with a few great stars thrown in.

It is like having coffee and a good conversation with your girlfriends even though you are so busy with the kids that you have not even gotten out of your pajamas yet. If you have not seen The View lately I suggest you set aside some time for yourself and sit back with a cup of coffee. You deserve the break!

I recently got to check out the new Rainbow Brite. I was sent a stack of computer disks to review and hand out to other moms with little girls. Rainbow Brite has been around for 25 years now so they have unveiled a more grown up version.

The old Rainbow Brite was a little chubby girl. The new Rainbow Brite is older, taller, thinner, and has makeup. I guess everyone has to grow up eventually!

The cd I received had some information about Rainbow Brite, video clips, coloring activities, and games. My younger two girls had a lot of fun with the games. They loved the matching game and the puzzles. The levels progressively got harder so it was really a fun challenge.

After we had our fun with the cd we got to hand some out to other little girls. Each time we handed one out the moms seemed almost as excited as the little girls. It is always nice when you can share something you loved as a kid with your own kids. The cd really brought back some memories!
