Cable Vs Satellite
More decisions to be made...As the economy gets worse it seems like everyone is trying to lock you into a contract. We are already stuck with T-Mobile even though we rarely get a signal in our new town. Of course they will let us out of our contract for $600.
Now we were offered a contract by our cable company. If we sign a contract with them for 2 years they will upgrade our cable, internet, and phone package to include faster internet and all of the movie channels for $179.97 a month.
That is about what we are paying now but we will still have to pay the extra stuff for extra boxes, their modem fee, and all of the other crap. I really do not know if I want to get locked into another contract. Especially by a company that just raised my bill by $60 a month since the one deal ended.
We have thought about Direct TV for awhile but never made a decision. We have moved so often because of work that we can not get the great deals DirectTV always gives. We almost got it a few months ago until they said that since we move so often we would have to buy all of the boxes and the dish.
We have still talked about getting DirecTV though. There are still a lot of pluses in switching. We just have not made a final decision. I guess I better stop procrastinating and check it all out. We have to decide if we want the deal from the cable company soon.

That sounds like a good deal with the cable company. Try calling them and let them know you are thinking Direct TV. It worked for one of my neighbors. They gave him a good deal.
The moving part really sounds dreadful, especially since they do lock you into contracts. HOWEVER, Directv offers to move you for free. I don't know if they have limitations on how often you can move, though??
We do Television through Directv, and we have our phone/internet through another company. Combined we're only paying $105/110 a month. But we don't have the best TV package, and we have minimum "stuff" on the phone. I cut lots of corners by realizing we don't NEED so many extras. We only have two TV boxes, no DVR, etc. The charges they try and impose make me ill to my tummy.
Happy Friday!
We have been with DirectTv for years now. My hubby has a satellite and box in his truck and set it up every night where ever he is parked.
All he does is look up the zip code andpoint the dish and we get wonderful t.v. in the truck while on the road.
We both are very happy with it!!
Happy weekend,
Jackie:-)
DH wants satellite. I wouldn't mind having it, but the thought of switching everything puts me off. He keeps hoping, though.
