Stuffed French Toast with Strawberries

So did I get you with that picture? Our family usually has a big breakfast together on Sundays. It is the only day that James can join us for breakfast so we try to make it a special breakfast. The girls and I wake up late and then have fun making things together. James usually does not want to wait that long so he has this bad habit of making a frozen pizza as he waits.

This recipe is one of our favorites. I have seen more complex variations of this recipe but I like it nice and simple. There is no need to make it fancier. It is just good honest food. It is also a great recipe to make for company. It is simple and fast to make but will really impress your guests.

Stuffed French Toast with Strawberries

You Will Need

strawberries
cream cheese
eggs
milk

Optional - sugar, honey, cinnamon, whipped cream

1.Mix up your favorite french toast dip. It can be as simple as eggs and milk or add in things like cinnamon, orange juice, or brown sugar.

2. Spread cream cheese thick on a slice of bread and then place another slice on top.

3. Dip the "sandwich" in the egg mixture and then brown in a pan with a bit of oil or spray oil.
4. When the "sandwich" is browned on both sides place on a plate and put sliced strawberries on top.

*Variations - If you wants the strawberries to have a sauce you can slice the strawberries the night before and mix them with sugar until they are coated. Keep them refrigerated until morning. The sugar will pull juice out of the strawberries and make a sauce. You can also put whipped cream on top if you want. Some people find cream cheese to be too strong tasting. If this is the case you can mix some honey into it before you spread it.

Looks yummy! I'd have to swap the strawberries with blueberries though. Allergic to strawberries.
