Coffee Table Shopping

We are planning on going shopping this afternoon for a sectional sofa. This means that I will have to take the coffee table that I love out of the living room. It is huge with four large drawers and beautiful woodwork. I loved that table and the matching end table so much when we got it.

I was actually a little nuts about it. I would freak out if the kids put drinks or food on it. They used to even say that I worried more about the table than I did about them. It was a bit of an obsession!

The coffee table has gotten damaged from all of times we have moved so I am no longer as obsessed but I will still hate to see it go. Maybe we can put it in the rec room so I do not have to actually say goodbye.

With our new furniture we will have to look at new Coffee Tables. The main issue is that it can not be as large as our current one.

I have been looking online but I just have not found one that jumps out at me. Maybe it is because I just do not want to buy a new one. I have found some really cool ones on Spacify. They have all kinds of tables including Conference Tables and Dining Room Tables. They have such great modern designs.

They have a huge array of prices so I decided to check out what the most expensive coffee table would look like. The coffee table in the picture is $2,790.00. My main question is... How the heck did they make it? The household that buys that must not have kids. I would be hovering over the table trying to protect it from children all day long! It looks really cool though.

Cool looking yes, but they want how much? are they nuts?...lol I would never pay that kind of money for a coffee table but it sure would be nice to be able to afford to

  4. The table is definitely sharp and would look good in the living room. However I won't spend that much of money on a coffee table. Looks really good though.

WOW that's more thaN a lot of money for not much. You can't put anything on it, or in it.

Do yourself a favor and paint the old one, and keep it.

I just painted 2 dressers and a bookcase my folks went to housekeeping with....I'm 60, does that tell you how old the pieces are. And...they are far better quality than anything new you can purchase today. Seriously, daughter has the pieces we painted...we're talking 3rd generation. That molded plastic is not going to live 3 generations. Keep the old.

I also see nothing wrong with not wanting or allowing kids to put stuff, drinks and food on it. It how you teach kids to take care of things. Kudos to you.
