Time To Garden

That time of year is finally here. This weekend we will plant the garden. Like every year I go into it with mixed feelings. The thought of all of that work makes we hate the idea but I do it anyway. Hopefully this year the girls will help me out more.

I think gardening is a great experience for kids. Not only can they get outside in nature but they can learn many lessons in the garden. Watching plants grow from tiny seeds is always exciting for kids. Children also learn that hard work pays off when they get to pick their own food from the garden.

So I go into this time of year a little excited but all of the hard work makes me tired already!

  1. I know exactly what you mean.
It is a lot of work but think of all the fresh veggies.
    I'm totally an organic gardener.
I can't wait for the veggies to roast, make marinated veggies salads, creamed cucumbers & a big bowl of homemade salsa in the fridge.
I live on this stuff all summer!
I live in MN so I'm waiting maybe another week to plant.
I started some peppers indoors this year with great success so next time I'm trying this with tomatoes.
May we all have bountiful gardens!
