My Mother's Day
Wow, this has been a long day!!! When I woke up the girls brought me cards they made at school and cards they each picked out at the store. Then James and Neona went to the store to get a newspaper and brought home flowers. The girls were going nuts and wanted to hurry up and give me my gift. I opened my gift to find bags of Starbucks espresso roast.
I told them thank you and wondered if they had forgotten that my coffee maker was not working right. My coffee maker had been taking longer than it should to make coffee. Then last weekend when it did the automatic shut off after 2 hours it was still not done making coffee. LOL
James said it was probably clogged with minerals from the water but then he forgot to get me vinegar to clean it out when he got the groceries. I did not want to upset the kids so I just said thank you and hoped that they did not notice that I did not make coffee.
Then all of a sudden as fast as they wanted to open the gifts they took off just as fast. I asked where they were going and they said they were going to go play in their bedrooms. I was a little upset that they had already took off and then they came right back down the stairs.
They said that they wanted to give me my birthday gift too. So they handed me a big box. They got me an espresso and coffee maker combo machine. So now I know why James did not get me the vinegar to clean my old coffee maker. I have wanted one for a long time but I always feel guilty spending money on things just for myself. So I made myself a nice big frothy cappuccino with cinnamon on top!!!
Then it was time to head to the hardware store. We got poles and chicken wire for around the garden since it ended up bigger than we planned. We ended up getting more seeds, weed & feed, and other stuff. James loves shopping so when he saw Dollar General he had to stop there too. LOL
When we got home it had stopped raining and dried a bit so we put up the chicken wire. The garden was still too wet so we planted some pots of flowers to go on the porch of the kids play house and some sunflowers by the garage. We made a bonfire and sat around it for awhile but James could not sit still so he and Abrianna put together the pool table in the garage. They called me into the garage to help them flip it over and then we played a few games of pool.
We then realised that we had not ever eaten so we started dinner. We had steak and pork chops on the grill, real mashed potatoes, corn and biscuits. As I took a shower they made a chocolate cake. They bought mint M&Ms at Dollar General so they put some of them on top the cake so they would bake in. It ended up really good.
